What This Woman Wants
I was inspired by the passing of the RU 486 legislation by women of all parties in the Federal Parliament. It made me realise that if we put our mind to it, and break down traditional party barriers, women can work together to create change.
But to do that we need women in Parliament who are willing to speak for us and hear our voices. This can only be done by a strong women’s party that is willing to listen to, and unite women, rather than dividing us into various groups.
I have a strong interest in social justice. A sustainable and resourceful future; fair employment opportunities; a fair and just welfare system that supports women; and health services that meet future needs are high on my agenda.
I am proud to be part of the What Women Want team and pledge to you that I will consult, listen and raise our voices as the member for Gippsland.
